WelcomHeritage Azora by Ayatana Kochi at Old Courthouse is a ritzy conjunction of history and all things contemporary. This overhauled 200-year-old structure was once part of the bustling port. The ‘alabastrine edifice’ at first, was set as a colonial bank and later post-independence Courthouse. In the recent past, the building operated as a warehouse for coffee and spice exports. The grand structure has been conscientiously renovated into a modern luxury hotel offering a boutique experience blending history and sophistication. The hotel has been renovated incorporating elements of geometric detailing, and all 16 rooms have trenchant checkered floors with luxe furniture and ornate detailing. The Bequest Hotel with its plush rooms and suites provides a panoramic view of Fort Kochi’s enthralling landscape. WelcomHeritage Azora by Ayatana is an homage to Mattancherry’s illustrious history of hospitality. Witnessing diverse communities settling, the establishment was a bystander of the tides of change. The hotel also offers an interactive culinary experience to indulge in a gastronomic tour of the rich cuisine. Guests can interact with the chefs and navigate the process of procuring fresh catch from the harbor, and organic and local produce from the markets. Out of the many pursuits guests can rejuvenate mind and body, or a workout at its gym, take a dip in the rooftop pool, with a sensational view of the streets of Fort Kochi and the ocean beyond. WelcomHeritage Azora by Ayatana provides an opportunity to experience the heady blend that makes Fort Kochi what it is. A stroll through the narrow streets laden with Portuguese, Dutch, Jewish, Arab, British, and even Chinese history. Explore by foot, bicycle, or vehicle, the antique markets, lively trading houses, atmospheric streets, arty cafes, and the lively din at the harbors. Soak up the tranquillity of the backwaters with a day cruise, an evening outing, an overnight stay on the houseboat, or simply relax at the WelcomHeritage Azora by Ayatana.
